BIOGRAPHY
Kay Walkowiak (*1980 Salzburg) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (2003-2008), the University of Applied Arts Vienna with Erwin Wurm (2003-2010) and at the Zokei University in Tokyo.
Walkowiak’s work blends installation, sculpture, video art, and photography, using conceptual and post-minimal strategies. He explores how form is historically and socioculturally defined.
Walkowiak has participated in various group exhibitions since 2004, most recently at the CNA in Luxembourg (2024) and at Bank Austria Kunstforum (2023), Vienna Biennale and the 4th Mediterranean Biennale (2021). Solo exhibitions include Bangkok Biennial, the Soulangh Art Space in Tainan, MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts, The Austrian Cultural Forum in New Delhi.
